Carbon steel coils, also called carbon steel coils, are mainly composed of two elements: iron and carbon. They are iron-carbon alloys with a carbon content between 0.05% and 2.0%. In addition to carbon elements, carbon steel coils may also contain small amounts of manganese, silicon, phosphorus, sulfur and other elements. The content and proportion of these elements will affect the performance of carbon steel coils.
According to the different carbon content, carbon steel coils can be divided into several types: low carbon steel coils, medium carbon steel coils and high carbon steel coils:
Low carbon steel coil: The carbon content is low, generally below 0.25%, and has good plasticity and weldability, but relatively low strength.
Medium carbon steel coil: moderate carbon content, high strength and hardness, while maintaining a certain degree of plasticity and toughness, suitable for manufacturing various mechanical parts and structural parts.
High carbon steel coil: It has high carbon content, high strength and hardness, but poor plasticity and toughness. It is mainly used to manufacture tools, knives and other products that require high hardness.
Hot rolling: The metal billet is heated to high temperature and then rolled to obtain carbon steel coils with certain specifications and properties. The hot rolling process can reduce the hardness and brittleness of the material and improve the plasticity and toughness.
Cold rolling: rolling metal blanks at room temperature to obtain carbon steel coils with higher precision. The cold rolling process can further improve the hardness and strength of the material, but the plasticity and toughness will be reduced.
High strength: able to withstand large loads and stresses.
Good toughness: When subjected to external force, it can undergo certain plastic deformation without destruction.
Easy to process and weld: It has good processing performance and welding performance, and can be formed and connected through various processes.
Corrosion resistance: Able to resist corrosion and oxidation to a certain extent.
We have our own Physical & Chemical Testing Center Lab to guarantee our product quality. Our test items & instrument fully meet international standards.
